Not Another New Year’s Resolution!
We have started the New Year and probably we have many “New Year’s resolutions”.
We want to go to the gym, eat healthier, be kinder to people, be thankful, the list can go on and on…
But let’s stop for a minute. Most of these resolutions put you in the middle, it makes sense, but have we thought about a resolution that will effect millions of people? Yes millions of people! This one resolution won’t make you thinner, fitter, smarter or richer. It will make the world a better place; maybe it will make you feel better… yes it will definitely make you feel better. Probably no other action you can take will be more powerful in defining the future of the planet. Here is an example of what happens when we do not make this resolution:
- 168 million child laborers in the world, 85 million of them are in hazardous work according to the ILO (International Labour Organization).
- The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that approximately 20,000 people die each year in developing countries as a result of the chemicals sprayed on non-organic cotton.
- The oceans are full of plastic, according to ecologist Mark Browne 85 % of it seems to come from microplastics (Fibers from our clothes like nylon and acrylic) produced by the garment industry. Numerous studies have shown that small organisms ingest these plastics introducing toxic pollutants to the food chain. A single garment can produce more than 1900 fibers per wash (at home).
These are just three examples of what happens when you choose not to buy organic garments. Make the change to organic. Whether you choose our brand or any other one, this is one of the most important steps you can take. This year can truly be a happy one; you are key for this to happen!
