Gardening With the Kids
What a beautiful thing to do! Now is the perfect season to teach your kids how to grow and care for plants. Gardening is such a relaxing activity. It is actually more than a simple activity, is an opportunity to learn to focus, be patient, to relax, and to care for our environment. What a powerful combination!!!
To capture their attention we can start by learning to transplant already grown plants. This is a great way to get everybody dirty and ready grow their green thumbs. Make sure you get the right plant for your area, plants with flowers are great for this. Read about how to water the plant and if there is any need for organic fertilizers or bug protection.
Once we have finish replanting, we can start by planting seeds. This way we can take care of our beautiful flowers while we wait for our seeds to germinate. Depending on where you live, you can plant sunflowers, pumpkins, carrots, tomatoes, mint... The list is long! You have to pick plants that will grow fast and produce something to eat, a beautiful flower, or a nice scent.
We will give you ideas of how to grow kitchen veggies in our next post.
Have fun with the kids!!!
